OzHarvest is Australia’s leading food rescue organisation, founded in 2004 by Ronni Kahn AO. We collect quality surplus food from commercial donors and deliver it free of charge to charities supporting people in need. We also deliver education programs that build food literacy and reduce food waste. Since 2004, we have delivered over 300 million meals to more than 1,500 charities nationwide.

 

One in three Australian households experiences food insecurity, while more than 7 million tonnes of edible food is wasted each year. Demand for food relief has surged, with charities reporting a 70% increase in requests and 74,000 people turned away every month. OzHarvest tackles both crises - rescuing quality surplus food and delivering it free to communities in need, nourishing people and protecting the planet.
